What types of injuries and conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide variety of injuries and conditions, including:
Cervical disc injuries
Lumbar disc injuries
Radiculopathies ("sciatica," "pinched nerves," etc.)
Pelvic pain and dysfunction
Headaches and migraines
In addition to treating the injuries and conditions listed above, we offer injury prevention and performance training services to keep you feeling well and moving to the best of your abilities.
Do you provide telehealth physical therapy?
Yes, we provide both in-person and telehealth (virtual) physical therapy services. Telehealth physical therapy sessions will take place on our HIPAA-compliant program through PtEverywhere. We are also set up with a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom with data encryption if you prefer to use Zoom. We offer 30-minute telehealth physical therapy evaluations and 30-minute telehealth physical therapy treatments.
Enjoy the convenience of working with us from your home or office. You should have a strong connection to the internet and should be alone in the room for privacy.
Do you accept my insurance?
Beyond Movement PT is out-of-network with all health insurance companies. This means we do not directly bill through your insurance provider. This allows us to provide high-quality one-on-one care that is individualized to your specific injury and goals. We are not dictated by insurance rules and regulations. We make all of our decisions based off of what is best for you.
Often times, your health insurance will offer out-of-network benefits. We will supply you with a detailed receipt of payments for services (superbill) after each session. By submitting your superbill, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront from the insurance company.
With Beyond Movement PT, you will know exactly how much you are paying for each visit. You will never receive an unexpected bill from us months later.
Are you able to see patients with Medicare Part B coverage?
Medicare guidelines dictate that if you are covered under Medicare Part B, you must see an in-network Medicare provider for physical therapy services.
However, we are able to see individuals with Medicare Part B for services that are not covered by Medicare, such as fitness and wellness services. This means that we can work with you to prevent injuries and improve your conditioning to safely perform your activities of daily living.

Why do you provide cash-based physical therapy?
Our nation's healthcare system has been failing us for years. Health insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for physical therapy services and strictly regulating how clinicians treat patients.
This decline in reimbursement forces most clinics to treat multiple patients each hour. It is common for physical therapists to double-book patients and see 3+ patients at the same time. I have witnessed clinics in the Baltimore area scheduling people in 15-minute and 20-minute increments, as well as double-booking. These clinics rotate patients in and use untrained assistants/techs (usually high school students) to complete treatments. You may spend 15 minutes or even no time at all with your assigned physical therapist on any given session. You will also likely be moved onto another providers schedule during your time there just to make room for more patients. Patients in this model do not receive the individualized care they need and often need to stay in physical therapy longer than they should have because it takes a long time to get better if the root cause of the problem is not properly addressed.
If you have experienced the type of clinic that I mentioned above, I would like to apologize to you on behalf of our profession and healthcare system. You deserve better. This is why we provide cash-based physical therapy. We spend an entire hour with you every time you come into our office. You have our undivided attention for your visit. This leads to higher quality care and faster results. We typically see our patients once per week, which saves you valuable time as you do not have to leave work early or commute to our office three times per week.

Can I submit a claim to my insurance company?
Yes, and many times you will recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront from the insurance company. We will supply you with a detailed receipt of payments for services (superbill) after each session. You should contact your insurance company to review your out-of-network benefits and get specific answers on what type of reimbursement to expect. We will do anything possible to assist you in recovering some of the cost from your insurance company. Some individuals prefer to use Reimbursify to submit their out-of-network claims.
Do you accept HSA/FSA cards?
Yes, we do accept HSA and FSA cards. We also accept all major debit/credit cards and cash as forms of payment.
Do I need a referral from my physician?
No, Maryland is a direct access state for physical therapy. This means that you do not need to see a physician and receive a referral prior to coming to see us. If you have already received a referral for physical therapy, please upload it to your documents on your PtEverywhere account and/or bring it with you to your initial physical therapy session.
We prefer to work in coordination with other healthcare providers as a team. We will gladly reach out to your physician or other healthcare provider and maintain communication with them throughout your plan of care to be as thorough as possible.
What are the costs for your services?
Pay by the session.
Get Out of Pain Package: $1,200 (SAVE $150)
6 sessions at $200 per session.
Stay Out of Pain Package: $1,850 (SAVE $400)
10 sessions at $185 per session.
Optimal Performance Package: $3,500 (SAVE $1000)
20 sessions at $175 per session.
Monthly Membership: $185/month (SAVE $40 PER MONTH)
Includes 1 PT session per month and programming to improve performance and prevent injuries. Additional PT sessions are $185 each. Minimum of a 6-month commitment.

How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment online, you must create a profile on our HIPAA-compliant software, PtEverywhere. You will be asked to provide some information that we need in order to identify you and work with you. Once your account is created, you will be able to book an appointment with us on for preferred date, time, and therapist. You can schedule multiple sessions at your convenience.
To schedule an appointment over the phone, simply call us at (410) 357-1529. We will ask you for the same information required for online scheduling and create an account for you on PtEverywhere. We will book an appointment with you over the phone for your preferred date, time, and therapist. We can schedule out multiple sessions for your convenience.
Do I need a PtEverywhere account?
You do need a PtEverywhere account, however you do not necessarily have to do anything to set it up. You will need an account because it is our electronic medical record software. You will need to set this account up to schedule online. However, if you call our office to schedule initially, we will set up the profile for you.
You can login to your patient portal via your web browser here or by downloading the app. You can download the app from Google Play here or Apple's App Store here. We recommend downloading the PtEverywhere app to utilize all of its features, which include but are not limited to:
Convenient online scheduling
Sign intake forms online
Upload imaging reports and referrals
Push notification reminders
View and track prescribed exercises and protocols
Utilize the health tracker to monitor certain metrics related to overall health
Utilize the HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please come to your first appointment wearing comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. You should bring your driver's license (or passport), completed intake forms (only if you printed them out and did not complete the online version), and any relevant documentation such as imaging reports or a referral from your physician (only if you did not upload them to your patient account on PtEverywhere).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first session to make sure we have all of the appropriate documentation. We want to spend the whole appointment time focusing on you.
How long are the physical therapy sessions?
In-person physical therapy sessions are 60 minutes long. Telehealth physical therapy sessions are 30 minutes long. We will see you at the time of your appointment. All sessions will be one-on-one with your physical therapist.
